RARE AND UNUSUAL BIRDS

THE ANSWERS.

So you had a little difficulty identifying some of these species?
Well don't be disappointed. You probably won't see them in the wild nor will you find them in any field guides. If you read my original statement carefully, you probably noticed that I said "birds that I haven't seen".

All the photos except the Mallard/ Black Duck were created in my computer as composites made from my collection of original bird pictures. The Mallard/Black Duck is an un-altered original.

How they were made:

Photo #1- Un-altered original

Photo#2- Great Blue Heron head on a Mute Swan body. (Great Blue Swan)

Photo #3- Redhead Duck head on a Gadwall body. (Redall)

Photo #4- Common Redpoll head on a House Finch body. (Housepoll)

Photo #5- Common Goldeneye head on the same Gadwall picture flipped. (Gadeye)

Photo #6- Rusty Blackbird head on a Red-winged Blackbird body. (Rusty Red-wing)

I hope that you got a chuckle out of these and sharpened your birding skills at the same time.

Lyle
